Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
