Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the obscurity." The storyline features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden sect.
The mission centers on "strange tests and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who finish the quest will acquire an unique katana together with several items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
Earlier Anime Partnerships
This represents hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime properties. The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
